Fabric & Materials

Absurdity Club fabric and materials

First — what actually is this?

A Collage Overshirt is a layer, not a shirt replacement.

You throw it on open over a plain tee. Like a windbreaker. Like a flannel. It goes over whatever you're already wearing — not instead of it. You're adding a layer of personality to your outfit, not building a new one from scratch.

Plain tee → throw it on open → done.

That framing matters — because once you understand it's a layer, everything about how it's made makes complete sense.

What's it made of and why?

Because this is a layer — not something sitting against your skin — the fabric logic is the same as a windbreaker or a puffer jacket. Both are polyester. Nobody questions that.

Polyester is fine. You're wearing it as a layer.

It's not touching your skin. It goes over a tee. It's outerwear for your personality — and polyester is exactly the right material for that job.

Same fabric as your windbreaker. Same logic too.

The Blend

Every Absurdity Club overshirt is made from an 88% polyester, 12% spandex blend. That specific combination isn't accidental.

Holds fine print detail better than cotton. The artwork stays sharp, vibrant, and exactly as designed — wash after wash. Cotton can bleed and fade. This doesn't.

Slides on effortlessly — and moves with you. The 12% spandex gives the fabric a small amount of stretch. Not activewear-level flex, but enough that it doesn't pull or restrict when you're moving around. Reach for something, sit down, throw it on in a hurry — it just goes with it.

Drapes naturally. Lightweight enough to move with you, structured enough to hang properly when worn open.

Needs zero maintenance. Wrinkle-resistant by nature. No ironing required. Throw it on, walk out the door.

Care Instructions

Treat it like you'd treat anything with detailed artwork on it — a little care goes a long way.

  • Cold machine wash. No heat, no drama.
  • Tumble dry low or hang dry. Either works — hang dry is better for longevity.
  • Do not bleach. Obviously.
  • Do not iron directly over the print. If you must iron, flip it inside out.
